Q + A

Is there a hotel block?

We’re working on getting two in the Tribeca area, one being more cost-effective and the other being a bit more high end! Outside of the hotel blocks, we recommend exploring your options in downtown Manhattan. We’ll be partying in Tribeca and eating lunch in Chinatown.

What’s the attire?

We’re eating Chinese food for lunch from 2:00-4:00, and then drinking and dancing from 6:30 on! Dress accordingly for lunch— you will have time to change! For the reception, think bright, floral, fun, sequins, glitter, feathers, disco, hot. We want you to turn out and turn up. We do politely request no forest green (or white.) Victoria and Lukas called dibs, sorry!

Why aren’t you doing a ceremony?

Victoria is Jewish! Luke is not! They also don’t want to give mushy gushy vows in front of hundreds of people! They’re too cool for that.

Are children invited?

Yes, with stipulations! If listed on the invitation, your kiddos are welcome to join us at lunch and at the reception from 6:30-9:00. After 9:00, the party is expected to become a little more “worldly” — the music will change and some substances you may not want them around may be passed around. 17 is the minimum to stay past 9, but we also trust the parents to supervise anyone under 21, and Victoria and Luke will not be held responsible if your teenager gets stoned and/or snags a class of champagne. If you’d like to hire a babysitter for after 9:00, let Victoria know! She’ll put you in contact with the other parents and potential candidates to watch your little angels while we’re getting a bit wild.

What are the nearest transit options to the venues?

For lunch, the nearest train lines are the Q, N, B, D, and F trains. The 4, 5, 6, J, and Z also run nearby and are about a 10 minute walk to the restaurant. You can also look at the M9 or M15 bus — we recommend routing from your hotel and seeing what the best option is for you. For the reception party, the nearest train station is going to be Canal Street (and almost all trains run to Canal Street!) The venue is accessible from the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, 4, 5, 6, R, W, J, and Z lines. You can also take an Uber or yellow cab. If you’re not from New York, please heed this warning: don’t get in random cars that ask you if you need a taxi or Uber. They can, and WILL, overcharge you beyond belief. Don’t get scammed!

Do you have a registry?

We have a very, very tiny apartment and almost everything we need in this world, especially with each other. We’re currently creating a registry for a few select physical items, like towels, but will also be creating an online wishlist for gift cards and the like. Victoria and Lukas are looking to move into a bigger space — potentially even looking at buying an apartment — so they politely ask that you prioritize gifts that can help with that mission. (Cash. They need cash.)

Do I have a plus +1? Can I bring my boyfriend/girlfriend/dog?

If it’s not listed on your invitation, no. Weddings are expensive — it’s not personal, we’re just prioritizing loved ones.
